MI Family Village 3rd Sunday/month, Sept. 19, 2:00-6:00PM Kit Carson City Park
We had a consecration class on Aug 14 for 4 adults and about 15 children. We taught about Mary in the Bible, and her 4 dogmas, and showed a video on Kolbe. A couple who took the consecration class last year (the husband became Catholic this April) gave their testimony.
Our MI Village was started 23 years ago and has passed through many phases. We taught classes at night in our home to begin with and moved on to parish consecration classes throughout the San Diego diocese. In the last 10 years we have had 1-2 consecration programs per year and we opened our monthly MI Family Village at our local parish but had to move on to a park. We were using the county park until it became hard to convince the park rangers that 150 people showed up at the park by coincidence and we shouldn’t have to pay the $400 group fee. We fled to Kit Carson city park and have had no issues for the last 2 years.

Our St Max feast day was celebrated by praying a private St Max novena and culminated in a celebration Mass with families praying St Max Chaplet after Mass. Artist, Mary Mullins, gave a wonderful and inspirational presentation on the signs and symbols that were contained in the stained glass window dedicated to St. Maximilian Kolbe.
We are preparing for our Sept meeting. We will have a Book Study with “Upbringing,” on instilling virtues in your children. New parishioners are inquiring about our Village. I just received a phone call from a grandparent who received custody of their grandchildren, who wants to be involved in learning more about instilling virtues in our children. We are going to have our first teen meeting also.
MI Mens Retreat was led by Fr Felice, who was one of the founders of Priests for Life. At 88 he is going strong and very vibrant. He was assisted by past MI National Vice Director, John Galten. 14 men attended.

1) We openned our Diocesan Respect Life Commission meeting with a prayer specifically to St. Max, patron of the pro-life movement.
2) We offered a consecration preparation class based on Father Faccenda’s book entitled One More Gift .Our consecration ceremony was fabulous !... with 25 participants, many new. We purchased a cake @ the bakery which they decorated with an image of St. Max, prompting their questions as to his identity.
3) Our interim pastor allowed us to place the newly dedicated statue of Our Lady on the altar for August 14 & 15, which we decorated with 30 white and red long stem roses.

Dear MI Members,
Summer is already over and the new year is upon us. We wanted to introduce you to the new MI
members who made their act of Total Consecration to the Immaculata on the feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe (Top photo). The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Hildebrand, OPraem (pastor of St. John the Baptist in Costa Mesa), Msgr Nestor Rebong (pastor of St. Christopher in West Covina) and Fr. Ernest (visiting priest from Ghana). Maria Del Rosario celebrated 40 years of consecrated life by the renewal of her vows. It was a beautiful day and celebration.
