Letter To The National Assistants In The Occasion Of Holy Easter
Dearest Brothers,
Allow me to take this opportunity before the upcoming Easter Celebration to extend to each of you my sincere, heartfelt wishes and to express my acknowledgement and support for all that you do with determination and spirit of faith in every part of the world. My own greetings are accompanied by those of the whole International Council with which I share an engaging spiritual journey by which we all desire to give strength to the MI’s journey in the whole world.
We are working in communion at providing for the necessities of the Militia: the renewal of the Statutes and the assumption of new national Centers, so as to better put to use the spiritual and material resources at our disposal, to make points of reference available for the youth ministry, and to put worthy emphasis on the 70th Anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Maximilian. His gift of self helps us to understand the Pasqual sense of our life which gives witness to the Resurrection and to a supernatural way of looking at things if it expresses an always more convinced and full gift of self in conformity to Christ and according to the style of Francis. I am convinced that for us Assistants, this Memorial of Fr. Kolbe offers us an opportunity to strengthen the kenotic dimension of our existence and our witness to fellow Knights. Remembering the martyrdom of St. Maximilian gives us the possibility to experience the beauty of the gift of ourselves by witnessing to the MI members that the heart of their spiritual experience resides precisely in their being evangelizers, beginning with the example that each one can offer in terms of the generous offering of their own life, an oblation that has its foundation in the consecration to the Immaculate. The International Center will unite itself to the Jubilee celebrations that will take place in August, in Poland, and will present the figure of the Franciscan martyr to all the youth at the next GMG in Spain, by means of a display and a stand.
I wish to you all an Easter full of the consolations of the Risen Lord, with the desire to always more consolidate the relationship of communion between us for the spiritual progress of the Militia of the Immaculate. I entrust all of us to the Virgin Mary so that we may be Her sons and servants worthy of the example of “our” St. Maximilian Kolbe.
