MI and the Fr. Kolbe Missionaries: May 20th May Crowning was attended by families and adults with prayer and procession. Young Catherine Venegas crowned the figure of Mary in the front of the FKM Center.
May 28th was our 25th Annual MI Family Picnic (see photos). Almost 200 people attended – lots of children were present. Participants traveled from from Modesto, Santa Clarita, the Valley, Perris, the high desert, Escondido and local areas. God blessed us with heavenly weather and a real sense of peace filled the air. While parents talked and relaxed kids played various games and especially loved the water games. Proceeds go to help the FKM stay afloat with the demanding costs
of daily life. John Ryan, who has coordinated the event for the past 23 years was given special acknowledgement.
June 6 Msgr Joseph Herres celebrated his 40th anniversary of priesthood with the MI Spanish Village which he has served for the last 19 years.

I spoke to about 8 religious education classes over the weekend on Our Lady and the Miraculous Medal ....handing out 330-ish medals to students and teachers. New MI member, Dawn, prepared the medals with a ribbon....another 200 went to diocesan schools.
We began our first Nocturnal Adoration/First Saturday Mass in May as part of our "praying for vocations" program which will, also, include a "Rosary for Vocations" on First Sundays as part of our monthly village meetings at the parish.
